In the end of 2011 a draft for amendment of the Act for the Energy from Renewable Sources, promulgated in State Gazette No 35/2011, as amended and supplemented, was prepared. The draft was submitted with the Parliament in the beginning of December 2011. The Act for the Energy from Renewable Sources (“AERS”) is one of the major acts regulating the grid connection procedure, prices and competent authorities regarding the development of renewable energy projects (“REP”) and future state programs for grind connection of REPs.
The amendments of AERS were promulgated on 10-th of April 2012 and have entered into force as from the date of promulgation with some minor exceptions. The purpose of the present article is to inform and analyze the amendments and the implications as far as possible at this stage.
