On 29th of February 2012, the 41st Bulgarian National Parliament adopted Act for the Amendment and Addendum of the Act on Entrance, Residence and Leaving of the Territory of Republic of Bulgaria by European Union Citizens and Members of their Family (hereinafter referred to as the “Act”). After the issuance of Presidential Decree № 102, the Act was published in issue 21 of March 13, 2012 of the Official Gazette.
Along with several unsubstantial amendments, trying to achieve more clarity of certain provisions, without having some major effect neither on their content, nor on their meaning, the Act effectuates a rather important number of perceivable amendments, related to the administrative requirements towards the members of the family of European Union (EU) citizens, as well as with the prerogatives of states authorities to impose on them concrete administrative measures, under special circumstances, determined by the Act.
Without any pretentions for exhaustiveness, we shall try to present you some of the important amendments that the Act effectuates.
