The new Regulation (ЕU) 2019/881 comes into force on 27th June 2019, it concerns a main issue for modern society – cyber security.
The Regulation governs the issue of cyber security in two directions:
Strengthens the powers of the European Union Agency for Network and Information Security (ENISA). ENISA is granted a permanent mandate, increasing its financial and human resources and generally reinforcing its role in supporting the EU in achieving a high level of cyber security.
The EU’s first cyber security certification framework is also established to ensure a unified approach to cyber security certification in the European internal market and, ultimately, to improve cyber security across a wide range of digital products and services.
These new rules will help people trust the devices they use every day, as they will be able to choose between products that are secure against cyber threats.
