The Sofia Bar Council with the Sofia Bar Association has set up a hotline for free legal assistance to Ukrainian refugees.

Legal assistance will be provided by the lawyers included in the List of lawyers willing to work free of charge on the hotlines.
The hotline operates at the Regional Counselling Centre of the SAC in the city of Sofia, Blvd. “Vitosha” № 1a, office 201.
Facilitated conditions for the provision of legal aid under the Legal Aid Act have also been created.
By Decision of 07.03.2022, the National Legal Aid Bureau eased the conditions for providing legal aid under the LLA to Ukrainian refugees who arrived in our country as follows:
- All lawyers from the CAA, registered in the National Register of Legal Aid will be able to provide consultations to citizens arriving in our country from Ukraine under Chapter Five “A” of the LPA – through the National Legal Aid Helpline and at the Regional Counselling Centre.
- Consultations can also be provided by lawyers outside the Regional Counselling Centre.
- Legal assistance is allowed for the preparation and drafting of documents in connection with the realization of the rights of Ukrainian refugees related to their residence in the Republic of Bulgaria without the need for an explicit request from the person and a decision by the President of the NBPP.
