Optimizing and improving the work of the NRA E-services portal

On the 25th of November 2019 National Revenue Agency held an open public discussion with representatives of various accounting and commercial companies. The meeting was attended by Ms. Donika Ilieva [1] who specializes in e-services and GDPR compliance. The main topics discussed during the public meeting were improvement of the web portal of NRA by incorporating a more sophisticated approach to authorisation of users by e-signature without the necessity to confirm the authorisation by visiting a local NRA office, better classification of the e-services and the authorisation rights given to authorised accountants or employee of a legal entity.

Changing the confirmation of authorization without the need to visit a local NRA office will be possible for persons who have valid electronic signatures issued. This is a good and expected solution to a problem that many users of the e-portal have encountered because of the inability to visit an NRA office on site to confirm the authority given.

By the end of 2020 the NRA will develop functionality to authorise an individual for each separate e-service by choosing the access type – general or partial. Currently, the possibility for a large part of the NRA’s services is limited only to the choice of a group of services, which prevents companies in their choice to select individual rights and access levels of the authorized persons. The improvement is a considerable step towards a more dynamic and transparent system allowing firms to choose in detail and control the given authorisation. Further improvements of the type and quantity of services is expected on a later stage.

By the summer of 2020 the e-services portal will be redesigned aiming a better user experience for all users, companies and individuals.
