Safe Harbor not so Safe After All. The Court of Justice Declared that the European Commission’s US Safe Harbor Decision is Invalid by Ms. Donika Ilieva Corporate and IT Attorney-at-law

The European Court of Justice has ruled that Decision 2000/520 of the European Commission, which stated that Safe Harbor – certified US companies[1] [1], provide adequate protection for personal data transferred to them from outside of the EU, is invalid. The following article discusses the major standpoints of the judgement and its affects on the status quo and future prospects of the data transfer regime.
