The deadline for non-household electricity consumers to transition to a free market electricity provider is running out

Home / News / The deadline for non-household electricity consumers to transition to a free market electricity provider is running out

As of the 1st of October 2020 all non-household electricity consumers, including those, whose facilities are part of the electricity distribution system at low voltage level, must purchase electrical energy for their needs at freely negotiated prices. A 9-month grace period for reaching an agreement with an electricity trader of your choice has been active since October.

Non-household consumers who haven’t done this until the 30th of June 2021, will be automatically transferred to a provider of last resort as of the 1st of July 2021 – a licensed activity, given to the same provider that has been delivering electricity under the grace period, but here the price of the electricity is significantly higher than the market price and is not subject to negotiation.

Don’t wait until the end of June, because the procedure in regard to choosing a provider, reaching an agreement with them and updating all documents required for the transfer takes time. It is recommended that all documents are submitted no later than the 10th of June in order to secure a smooth transition to your new provider.
