As the client’s main company has copyrights on the software, for which the general rule is that it may not be transferred, the law firm consulted the client on ways to do so. We began a transformation through separation of the company, which is one of the few exceptions in changing the holder of copyrights, as intangible assets may be transferred under the procedure. The client has also patented a method and system for automated dynamic medical image acquisition, in connection to the software. The procedure allowed the client to transfer these patents as well. The new structure will allow the client to develop freely in the area of medical software, without the burden of its other activities being tangled in.
